Fiber Optic Conduit Installation
Soon you will see colored flags on lawn areas and workers employed by Verizon to install conduits for future fiber-optic service. This work is being performed under State and local regulations, with Association approval.
Marketed by Verizon as FIOS, this will allow residents to use high speed fiberglass connections to carry telephone, television, or internet service if they desire the service.
If you did not read the explanatory letter sent by the Association, a copy is available here. Note that work is running several months late while necessary permits are being obtained by Verizon. Check back here for latest status.
Townhouses
All work will be done outside. Work inside a unit will occur only if the resident desires this service at a later date.
Garden Apartments
This work involves both conduit installation on the grounds, and placement of empty conduit through the attics, inconspicuously down through closets to both the first and second floor units. Placement of these conduits will facilitate service if desired (fiber can be easily pulled through the conduits) and will generally be viewed as enhancing value. As a given garden apartment building is affected, notices will be placed.
