Grounds Program Continues;
Organic Lawn Program Adopted

The Board has engaged expert Mike McGrath to assist in planning a further transition to organic lawn maintenance methods. As a result, organic standards have been adopted for implementation starting this fall. Read the whole story here.

Activity last winter included removal of dead trees and cleanup work. With the arrival of spring, the Board of Trustees authorized another round of improvements including more tree removal and replacements, additional groundcover treatments in areas where grass was not succeeding, and dozens of new ornamental plants and shrubs.

Currently the fall tree and shrub effort is being planned, with work expected to start in September.

Seen below is recent work removing problematic pear trees, which will be replaced with attractive new plantings. Major grass work will take place in the fall, taking advantage of favorable seasonal patterns.
